Around 50% of the Government of Indonesia\u2019s National Strategic Projects pipeline is dedicated to transportation infrastructure, with just under a quarter of these being green infrastructure.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div> \n\n <div   class=\"ui-column span6\"><div class=\"ui-row ui-row-no-margin\"><div class=\"ui--image-wrap clearfix\"><img  id=\"ui--image-1\" class=\"ui--image ui--animation\" src=\"https:\/\/gii.maritim.go.id\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/Urban.png\" alt=\"Urban\" title=\"Urban\" data-at2x=\"\"\/><\/div><div  class=\"ui--space clearfix\" data-responsive=\"{&quot;css&quot;:{&quot;height&quot;:{&quot;phone&quot;:null,&quot;tablet&quot;:null,&quot;widescreen&quot;:null}}}\"><\/div><div class=\"auto-format ui--animation\"><p><strong>Example of Potential GII Investments<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Assessment of current and future demand for public urban transport (surveys, links to city planning, etc.).<\/li>\n<li>Introduction or upgrade of all modes of public transport from regular buses, bus ways, BRT, mini-buses (angkot) and taxis to railway systems such as MRTs, LRTs\/trams; including related infrastructure development (under-\/overpasses, bus lanes, interchanges, etc).<\/li>\n<li>Electrification of public transport (battery electric, trolley buses) with integration of renewable energy solutions.<\/li>\n<li>Last-mile connectivity: Development of infrastructure and services for pedestrians, cyclists and all kind of wheelers, including bike paths and cycling highways, area-wide pedestrianization, auxiliary facilities to expand \u201ccatchment\u201d area of public transport systems.<\/li>\n<li>Area and traffic management:<\/li>\n<p>    &#8211;\tAssist in setting up Intelligent Transport Systems to support eco-friendly public transport modalities.<br \/>\n    &#8211;\tDevelopment and support of Transit Oriented Development approaches, including development of last-mile services, densification, etc. <\/p>\n<li>Pollution reduction\/Urban air quality improvement:<\/li>\n<p>    &#8211;\tImproved emissions control and vehicle testing, , installation of air pollution monitors for measuring SO2, CO2, NO2, NO and particulate matter (PM-10 and PM-2.5);<br \/>\n    &#8211;\tTransparent calculation of reduction of GHG emission of different investment scenarios. <\/p>\n<li>Green logistics:<\/li>\n<p>    &#8211;\tSupport to fleet renewal and consolidation.<br \/>\n    &#8211;\tDevelopment of freight hubs and consolidation centers.<br \/>\n    &#8211;\tHinterland connectivity of ports and area improvement.\n<\/ol>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div> \n\n<\/div> \n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The transport sector accounts for approximately 30% of Indonesia\u2019s total greenhouse gases (GHG) emissions \u2013 comparatively more than global share of around 23%.
